THE OUTRIDE FUND=MORE TRAILS+YOUTH CYCLING EDUCATION+YOUTH RIDER DEVELOPMENT

The Blakeley Bike Trail Initiative is a group of local trail riders in Alabama who have teamed up with Historic Blakeley Park to help develop and maintain the park trails. Through a partnership with Eastern Shore Cycles  in Daphne, Alabama, the park now has a designated bike trail. The 10 mile loop traverses scenic wooded trails alongside many the Civil War earthworks.

BBTI was granted permission to create the all new mountain bike specific trail within the 60 acres of untouched wilderness. BBTI received an Outride Fund Grant of $1500 to match the fund drive and they reached their $3,000+ target goal to cover costs to rent equipment to cut the trail and materials, such as wood for features and wetland crossing and dirt for berms.  Mission accomplished!
