Three-time world champion Peter Sagan hosted the three-day Sagan Roadie-Oh! in San Diego for an extended weekend in early November to ride, have fun and raise funds for both Outride and the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Ďakujem Peter—that’s “Thank You” in Slovak, is a toast to his history and heritage!

Erik Zabel, whom Peter took the record-setting green jersey honor from, was also on hand to help roast and toast Peter’s incredible achievements. The two greatest sprinters the Tour de France has ever seen together for one fantastic night.

The festivities started on Friday, November 8, with an exclusive "Gala" at the home of former NBA star and avid cyclist Bill Walton and his wife Lori. The event raised more than $100,000 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and Outride. Cycling stars mingled with the industry’s top supporters, professional athletes and challenged athletes in a truly elegant setting fit for champions.

The 'Sagan Fondo Expo and Peter Sagan VIP Experience' was next up on Saturday. The Gran Fondo offered rides of 150km, 100km and 50km, traveling back country roads and rolling climbs across North County’s vistas and vineyards. Yes, Peter opted for the longest 150km/93 mile route. Both Saturday and Sunday’s events took place at North City in San Marcos.

Sagan welcomed special guests including former US track cycling star Nelson Vails and fellow Tour de France green jersey winner Erik Zabel. Cycling fans got to ride along in the slipstream and get a jersey signed by the rider who recorded his seventh Green Jersey victory at the Tour de France. Mark your calendars—Sagan announced he will complete in the Giro d’ Italia for the first time in May 2020.
