Bike Shop Relationship/Ongoing Maintenance

The Riding for Focus program will include a set of bikes that belongs to the school or organization. As these bikes are used they will require regular bike maintenance to stay in good working condition. We recommend creating a school plan for your students to follow, to understand the maintenance of owning a bike, as well as, a plan for more in-depth maintenance that can be performed by someone familiar with bike maintenance or a local bike shop. All maintenance and upkeep is the responsibility of the school to perform or have done, therefore Riding for Focus does not require our schools/organizations to complete bike maintenance with a local shop.

If your school does decide to utilize a local bike shop we have included the Store Locator link here and we recommend connecting ahead of time to explain the Riding for Focus program. You can use the following blurb to do so:

Hi (bike shops name),

This year we have been selected as a Riding for Focus school within the Outride program. This opportunity allows us to educate our students on riding safety and gets youths on bikes regularly. We use our fleet of (your school's amount of bikes) bikes (x) amount of times per week. We would like to ensure that our bikes stay in good working condition and would like to see if you are willing to partner with us to complete regular maintenance. If you would like to work with us please let us know as it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
