Program Evaluation Protocol
Throughout the Riding for Focus program we regularly ask our Champions to collect data based on their and their students' experiences. These evaluations greatly help our team to collect meaningful data that keeps students engaged, collects valuable research data, demonstrates the programs impact, drives decisions that impact the programs future, as well as, helps us to implement meaningful changes.
Evaluations are broken up into two main sections. The first is the Program Evaluation and Improvement. This targets the program implementation itself and helps us to understand what is working well and what areas we can work to improve the program, curriculum, and how it is implemented in schools. The second area collects information regarding the Student Outcomes. This helps us to understand how the program effects student confidence in riding, their motivation, well-being, and engagement/interest in the program. With our Champions help, evaluations of student outcomes allows our team to collect meaningful data on where most students feel they are benefiting from the program and why and on if the program encourages them to continue to be more active outside of school hours.
Evaluation collection occurs pre, post, and during the implementation of the program. We encourage Champions to keep an eye out for email reminders and curriculum directives that outline when evaluations should be collected.
