Dr. Cynthia Hartung
Dr. Cynthia Hartung (she/her) is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky. She subsequently completed her internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. Hartung then completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Oregon Health Sciences University and the University of Denver. Prior to beginning her position at the University of Wyoming in 2007, she was an Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hartung’s research is aimed at developing treatments for adolescents and emerging adults with ADHD and understanding sex/gender differences in psychopathology. She has authored more than 70 publications on ADHD and sex/gender differences and has made numerous presentations regionally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Hartung and her colleagues recently published a treatment manual and a workbook for college students with ADHD that focuses on organization, time management, and planning skills (i.e., Thriving in College). She is also pursuing a newer line of research examining the effects of physical exercise (i.e., cycling, mountain biking) on academic performance in adolescents and emerging adults with ADHD. Dr. Hartung is a member of several professional organizations including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP), and the International Society for Research in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (ISRCAP).
