The Outride Fund is back!

Since 2019, Outride has proudly supported community nonprofits by committing more than $1.5 million to 170+ youth cycling projects across the country. We’re excited to continue this critical work as cycling as a sport, hobby, and means of transportation continues to grow globally. Through our work with previous grantees, we know cycling has the power to transform lives, and we’re stoked introduce some changes to the Outride Fund that we hope will bring that power to more communities and riders.

In previous rounds, the Outride Fund partnered with communities by contributing 1:1 matching grants, but now we’re excited to announce a shift in our giving model to direct grants. Organizations seeking grants will no longer need to raise matching funds. The Outride Fund grant committee will carefully select grantees according to our funding criteria and work closely with organizations to determine the most sustainable and appropriate level of funding.*

We’re continuing to support trails, pump tracks, rider education, workforce learning, after-school programs and more, but with a renewed focus on answering the question: How can cycling improve social, emotional, and cognitive health? As an applicant, we will ask your organization to consider this question carefully as you submit proposals.

Here’s what's not changing: our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We still have an unabiding commitment to harnessing the power of cycling to improve social, emotional, and cognitive health, to helping bring that power to underrepresented demographic groups, and to diversifying the populations that participate in cycling. We know the vast disparities exist when it comes to accessing cycling and its benefits for mental health, so our work must have an equity lens and competitive proposals will demonstrate an intentional commitment to creating equitable and inclusive spaces.

The application will open on January 6th! Please stay tuned to our website and social media channels as we continue to publish more guidance and opportunities to connect in the coming weeks!

If you’re not an organization seeking funding but want to support this work, please consider donating to Outride. 100% of donations from the general public are invested in grantees.

*Not all eligible organizations will receive funding
