“I ride because it brings me peace. I ride because it’s hard. It isn't easy and it isn't handed to you. Nothing in my life has been handed to me. I had to go out and get it on my own.

I also ride because there is mad traffic in LA and no parking....”

My dream career outside of cycling is…

I would love to work within sports. I want to work with athletes and help them get the tools that is needed to succeed so they can just so they can just focus on just what's important. I also always wanted to develop or work for an organization that would work with me to really support the city that I grew up in by providing healthy food, job opportunities, and outlets for young kids that would be affordable.

My favorite academic subject is…

History

My earliest memory on a bike is…

When I did my first ride that had a huge climb in it. I was suffering and I was so mad that my friend took me. I wanted to walk so bad but I also didn't want to give up. so I kept going and kept pushing. When I finally got to the top I looked out into the distance and saw the view and was instantly proud that I got myself here. On my own.

why do you ride?

I ride because it brings me peace. I ride because it’s hard. It isn't easy and it isn't handed to you. Nothing in my life has been handed to me. I had to go out and get it on my own. I ride to show others that I can do it so can you. you just need to be willing and open. I also ride because there is mad traffic in LA and no parking…

what has the bike given you?

Peace, discipline, joy, and inspiration.

Role Model?

Right now. Kevin hart and Lebron James. The both know no such thing as failure and the words "I can't" or "its too hard" aren't in their vocabulary. They have huge targets on their back and people are just wanting them to fail but all it does is drive them to keep going.

advice to up and coming cyclists?

A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory. it sucks in the moment or in the beginning but the end as always so sweet. push through and don't give up. If you give up, someone else is going to keep pushin’
