David Wood, MS/MBA, Senior Director
David is a logistics and operations professional who brings leadership experience in program management from his previous life in the United States Marine Corps. He currently heads up the Riding for Focus program, international program expansion, and research efforts in schools. An avid ultra-marathon runner, and a rapidly developing bike rider, David splits his time between getting out on trails, playing with his daughter Abigail, running his husky Juno, and serving in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Kimberly Price, Ph.D., Research Advisor
Kim is a recovering neuroscientist who's found her calling at the Specialized Foundation. She started her professional career studying and teaching the biology of adolescent brain development at UC Berkeley and UW Madison, but left academics for the bike industry to pursue her passion for riding. She currently advises the team on research, cognative functioning, and data analytics An avid runner and hiker, Kim spends her free-time exploring unmapped trails of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Kaylee Blevins, Research manager
Kaylee grew up in the heart of mountain bike history in Durango, Colorado. After finding a love for riding and for coaching the next generation, she graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology, specifically focusing on global children’s health. At The Specialized Foundation, Kaylee has found a perfect intersection of her academic interests and her passion for getting more kids on bikes.
Ariadne Scott, Communications and Grant Counselor
Ariadne serves as the Assistant Director of Active Mobility for Stanford Parking & Transportation Services and is responsible for “everything bike-related” for the 8,000 acre campus that was designated the first Platinum Level Bicycle Friendly Community (2011-2019). She currently leads Riding for Focus Newsletters and Outreach efforts. Ariadne has been car-free for decades and has over 20 years of experience in the bicycle industry.
Meagan Daniel, Riding for focus Manager
As Program Manager, Meagan supports the operations of The Specialized Foundation team. Meagan is a Birmingham, Alabama native. She wasn't a cyclist, nor did she know a cycling community existed, until she walked into her first bike shop at the age 25 and bought a Specialized Dolce. One month later, she rode the bike across country. She is passionate about fostering positive mentorship and personal and professional development amongst middle school age children through the power of cycling.
James Nixon, Press Relations
James is an experienced Public Relations professional with a passion for bikes. James directs his energy towards sharing positive and inspiring stories about our Riding for Focus students. He is an advocate for pump tracks instead of parking lots, and between coordinating media opportunities, drafting press releases, and managing school visits, he can be found with his wheels in the dirt.
Emily Watts, Marketing Manager
Emily, a Global Marketing Project Manager, sits at the intersection between product and marketing. Currently, she helps track all Specialized Foundation marketing initiatives; particularly focused on marketing the Riding for Focus program and Foundation Ambassadors. To keep out of trouble, Emily loves swimming, biking, and running (yes, she’s a triathlete) and adventuring all over the west coast in her converted Sprinter van.
